ph Correction System with Calcite

Calcite is a naturally-occurring mineral rock consisting of approximately 95% calcium carbonate and 3% magnesium carbonate. It is commonly used in residential and commercial water treatment applications. To neutralize acidic or low pH water to reduce corrosiveness and balance pH prior to iron treatment.

However it does not over correct under normal conditions. Up until contact with Calcite media, acidic waters slowly dissolve the calcium carbonate to raise the pH which reduces the potential leaching of copper, lead and other metals found in typical plumbing systems. At this instant back washing will prevent packing, reclassify the bed and maintain high service rates.
