A Plain Socket (sometimes referred to as a PVC coupling or PVC connector) is essential for securely joining two lengths of PVC pipe of identical diameter in water supply, irrigation, and industrial applications.

Designed for straight forward solvent welding, this socket ensures a strong, leak-resistant connection that withstands demanding operating environments. By using PVC solvent cement and cleaner, users can achieve a robust bond, making this fitting ideal for high-performance fluid systems requiring durable and reliable connections.

Metric PVC pressure pipes glue into both socket ends on this fitting for a permanent fix. The pipes will only go as far as the stops on the inside. Spigot fittings of the same size can also be glued into the socket ends on this fitting. This socket is not compatible with most imperial pipe sizes.

The only exception is 2 ½” pipe which is the same as 75mm. The appropriate preparation steps. Which include cleaning the pipe, should be carried out as a part of the solvent welding process.
