Ultra Filtration Membrane AQU-200
Important to realize Ultrafiltration (UF) filtrates in the 0.01-micron range. Given that the element comprises of hollow fibers of membrane material. Subsequently UF is a type of membrane filtration in which hydrostatic pressure forces a liquid against a semipermeable membrane. However it does not differ fundamentally from reverse osmosis.
Coupled with Microfiltration or nanofiltration, except in terms of the size of the molecules it retains. For example UF can be used as pretreatment for reverse osmosis systems or as a final filtration stage for deionized water. For example it is an excellent purification method in areas where the TDS is low or in drought-stricken areas, as it produces no waste.
Ultrafiltration is very effective at removing tiny particles which can quickly foul reverse osmosis membranes, thus reducing the silt density index of the water. For this reason, it frequently serves as pretreatment for surface water, seawater, and biologically treated municipal water upstream of RO.
UF is also used in industry to separate suspended solids from solution. Finally Industrial applications include power generation, food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical production, biotechnology, and semiconductor manufacturing.
