Description
The 3 Stage Under Counter Purifier with Faucet is a premium point-of-use water filtration system designed to improve the taste, odour, and clarity of municipal drinking water. Installed neatly beneath the kitchen sink, it delivers a continuous supply of filtered water through a dedicated drinking water faucet. Unlike a reverse osmosis system, this purifier uses a three-stage filtration process to remove sediment, chlorine, and other contaminants while retaining the beneficial minerals naturally found in the water.
The system combines sediment filtration, activated carbon filtration, and Ultra Filtration (UF) technology to reduce dirt, rust, chlorine, unpleasant tastes, odours, bacteria, and suspended particles. The 0.01-micron UF membrane provides an additional level of protection against microorganisms without producing wastewater, making it an excellent solution for homes supplied with good-quality municipal water.
What is the Difference Between Filtered Water and Reverse Osmosis Purified Water?
The primary difference between a 3 Stage Under Counter Purifier and a Reverse Osmosis (RO) System is the purification method.
A conventional 3 Stage Under Counter Purifier removes contaminants using sediment filtration, activated carbon, and an Ultra Filtration (UF) membrane. It improves the taste, odour, and clarity of water by reducing sediment, chlorine, bacteria, and suspended impurities while retaining beneficial minerals such as calcium and magnesium. However, it does not remove most Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) such as sodium, manganese, calcium carbonate, and other dissolved minerals commonly found in municipal water.
A Reverse Osmosis system uses water pressure to force water through an ultra-fine semi-permeable membrane that removes up to 95% of dissolved salts, heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, chemicals, and other microscopic contaminants. While RO provides a higher level of purification, it also produces wastewater and typically requires a storage tank.
For homes supplied with low-TDS municipal water, a 3 Stage Under Counter Purifier provides excellent-tasting drinking water while retaining healthy minerals and operating without electricity or water wastage.
