Description
A 4″ Threaded plug for an FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) vessel. Is a specific plastic fitting used to seal the tank’s top or bottom opening. When a control valve or other fitting is not needed. Such as during storage or for simple whole-house filtration systems that don’t require access to the top.
4″ Threaded plug details
- Material: The plugs are typically made from durable, chemical-resistant plastics. Like ABS or reinforced polypropylene (PP), which are suitable for water treatment applications and are often food-grade.
- Threading: The plug features a 4″ male thread designed to screw into the standard 4-inch female threaded opening found on most residential and commercial FRP pressure vessels.
- Design: These are often a simple, robust design, sometimes with a hex head or a flat top with an internal hex/square. For use with a wrench during installation and removal.
- Sealing: A proper seal is typically achieved with a built-in EPDM or similar gasket/O-ring. Ensuring a watertight connection without the need for additional sealant in smooth-lined tanks.
