Description
8″ Diameter, DMI65 Iron Removal System With An Automatic Backwash Head
DMI-65 is a catalytic filtration media designed specifically for the removal of iron and manganese found present in water sources. Also it does not require the use of potassium permanganate whatsoever, and is changing the world of filtration media for good! Its special micro porous.
Technical Datasheet for DMI-65®: Iron & Manganese
Iron 2ppm – Manganese 1ppm = LV 8 – 9m3/m2/hour as close to pH 7.5 – 8 as possible. If the Iron concentration is higher than 2ppm and has some manganese, than slow LV down to between perhaps 7 – 8m3/m2 hour and maintain pH as close to 7.5 – 8 as possible.
What is 8″ Diameter, DMI65 Iron Removal System With An Automatic Backwash Head?
Treating your water with DMI-65 is one way of ensuring that your water quality retains the right iron and manganese balance that is safe for consumption. For this purpose DMI-65 is designed to operate in the presence of chlorine or another oxidant in order to begin the process of oxidation of the iron (and manganese) in solution.
DMI-65 acts as an oxidation catalyst with immediate oxidation and filtration of the insoluble precipitates derived from this oxidation reaction. DMI-65 can also remove Arsenic, Aluminum and other heavy metals and Hydrogen Sulfide under certain conditions.
Advantages of DMI-65
- Eliminates Potassium Permanganate. Operates with continuous injection of sodium hypochlorite at low residual levels (0.1 to 0.3 ppm).
- Wide pH range. Stable and satisfactory performance at pH 5.8 to 8.6.
- High Flow Rates. DMI-65 can operate at linear filtration velocities up to twice that of conventional media with a Higher Operating Temperatures. Maximum operating temperature of 113° F (45° C).
- Surprisingly long life DMI-65 is not consumed in the process providing considerable advantages over other processes or media.
- Regeneration Not Required after initial activation only sodium hypo-chlorine feed is required.
- System Compatibility. Physical properties are similar to that of competitive media allowing conversion to DMI-65 without major hardware modifications.
- Arsenic Removal. DMI-65 has been shown to be effective in the removal of arsenic associated with iron-containing influent.
- If necessary ferric chloride can be introduced to treat waters with low influent iron levels. As well as to enhance removal when treating waters with high levels of arsenic.
