The Bottom distributor for a 14″ to 36″ tank – 4″ mount is an internal water-treatment component designed for compatible FRP filter and softener vessels.

Description

The Bottom distributor for a 14″ to 36″ tank – 4″ mount serves as an internal water-treatment component that is compatible with FRP filter and softener vessels. Installed at the top of the vessel and connected to the internal riser tube, the distributor helps prevent granular filter media from entering the control valve and downstream water-flow pathway.

Its stacked-screen design allows water to pass through while helping retain treatment media inside the vessel. During normal filtration, the distributor supports the required water-flow path through the treatment system. During backwashing, the distributor can help release accumulated fines and debris from the screen, depending on the system configuration.

The top distributor is suitable for compatible water softeners, sand and quartz filters, activated carbon filters, deionisation (DI) resin vessels, iron-removal filters, pH filters and other media-based water-treatment systems.

Features:
  • 50 mm stack-style bottom distributor.
  • Designed for compatible FRP water-treatment vessels.
  • Helps prevent filter media from entering the control valve.
  • Helps retain granular treatment media within the vessel.
  • Stacked screen design.
  • Designed to allow water to pass through the distributor.
  • Helps protect the valve head from media particles.
  • Suitable for backwashing and up-flow filtration systems.
  • Suitable for manual and selected automatic valve-head assemblies.
  • Compatible with selected valve-head brands, subject to connection specifications.
  • Compact internal design.
  • Easy to install and remove when compatible with the vessel and valve assembly.
  • Suitable for a wide range of media-based water-treatment applications.
  • Durable plastic construction.
Specifications:
  • Product type: Bottom distributor for a 14″ to 36″ tank.
  • Distributor type: Stacked upper strainer.
  • Riser connection: 50 mm OD.
  • Installation position: Top of FRP vessel.
  • Construction: Plastic.
  • Application: FRP water-treatment vessels.
  • Compatible valve heads: Selected manual and automatic valve heads, subject to connection specifications.
Applications:

1. Water Softening:

Used in compatible water-softening vessels containing ion-exchange resin. The top distributor helps prevent resin particles from entering the control valve while allowing water to pass through the internal distribution system.

2. Activated Carbon Filtration:

Suitable for compatible carbon filter vessels where the distributor helps retain activated carbon media inside the vessel and protect the valve assembly.

3. Sand and Quartz Filtration:

Can be used with compatible granular filtration media, helping prevent filter material from entering the valve and outlet pathway.

4. Iron Removal Filtration:

Suitable for compatible iron-removal media systems where an upper distributor is required to help retain the treatment media.

5. Deionisation Resin Filtration:

Can be used in compatible DI resin vessels to help prevent resin particles from entering the valve assembly.

6. pH Filtration:

Suitable for compatible pH-correction media vessels where an upper distributor is required.

7. Backwashing Filter Systems:

Suitable for media filtration systems that use periodic backwashing to remove accumulated contaminants and fines from the treatment media.

8. Up-Flow Filtration Systems:

Can be used in compatible up-flow filtration systems where the internal distributor arrangement requires a top screen to help retain the treatment media.

How the Top Distributor Works:

You can install the top distributor at the upper section of the FRP vessel and connect it to the internal riser tube or lifting tube.

During normal filtration, water flows through the treatment media and then through the internal distribution system. The calibrated or screened openings allow water to pass while helping prevent larger particles of treatment media from entering the valve assembly.

A typical arrangement is:

Water enters the vessel

Water flows through the treatment media

Treated water reaches the bottom distributor

The distributor collects the treated water

Water enters the central riser/lifting tube

Water returns through the filter head

The exact water-flow direction depends on the vessel, valve head and filtration configuration.

During backwashing, the flow direction is reversed. Water is directed through the internal distribution system and through the treatment media to loosen accumulated contaminants and fines. The stacked distributor design can assist in releasing debris that may accumulate around the screen.

Compatibility:

The 50 mm Stack Top Distributor Basket Screen may be suitable for selected valve-head and FRP vessel configurations used with:

  • Water softeners.
  • Sand filters.
  • Quartz filters.
  • Activated carbon filters.
  • Iron-removal filters.
  • Deionisation resin filters.
  • pH filters.
  • Other media-based filtration systems.

Compatibility should be confirmed using the valve-head connection, riser-tube diameter, vessel dimensions and distributor specifications before installation.
