Description
Brine tank valve assembly for a 160 Liter – 300 Liter
Brine valve, float assembly for F74A3 & F77A3
The Brine tank valve assembly aids the water softening system in regeneration. It is a shorter tank that sits adjacent to the mineral tank. The brine tank holds a highly concentrated solution of salt to restore the resin beads’ positive charge.
Depending on your manufacturer’s instructions, you’ll want to keep 3-6 gallons or 6-10 inches of water in the tank. This ensures enough water is available to create the brine solution needed for the next regeneration cycle. So, without water to help create this salty brine solution, your softening system can’t reactivate the beads. The most common type of water softener is made up of two components: a tall and narrow water softener tank and a shorter and wider brine tank.
Checking Salt Levels and Salt Bridges
Maintaining the optimal salt level in your brine tank is crucial for ensuring your water softener operates effectively. To check the salt levels, simply lift the lid of the brine tank and observe. If the salt level is less than half full or appears dry, it’s time for a refill.
