Calcite Filtration Media 25kg is a naturally occurring calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) media designed to neutralise acidic or low pH water. Water treatment professionals widely use it in residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial water treatment systems to raise water pH, reduce corrosion, and protect plumbing, appliances, and water treatment equipment.
Acidic water slowly dissolves calcite, increasing the pH until a non-corrosive equilibrium is reached. Its self-limiting properties help prevent over-correction under normal operating conditions, making it a reliable and cost-effective solution for pH correction.
You must periodically replenish the media as it is consumed during operation. Also you should regularly backwash to prevent media compaction, maintain filtration efficiency, and ensure consistent service flow. To achieve faster neutralisation of water with very low pH, you can blend Calcite with Corosex® media.
