Description
The 50 mm riser pipe is an internal component designed for compatible 14″–36″ FRP water-treatment vessels with a 4″ top connection. It connects the filter head to the internal distributor assembly and provides the central pathway for water flow through the vessel. When installed with the correct top and bottom strainers, the complete internal assembly helps distribute water evenly through the filter media and helps prevent filter material from entering the water-flow pathway.
The riser pipe is suitable for a variety of water-treatment applications, including water softening, quartz and sand filtration, activated carbon filtration, pre-filtration and other media-based treatment systems.
When installed with the correct top and bottom strainers, the internal distributor assembly helps distribute water evenly through the filter media, reduce flow impact and help prevent filter material from escaping from the vessel.

Applications:
The riser pipe can be used as part of FRP vessel assemblies for:
1. Activated carbon filtration:
Used inside carbon filter vessels to provide the connection between the internal distributor and the control/filter head.
2. Sand / quartz filtration:
Used in media filtration vessels containing quartz sand or similar filtration media.
3. Water softening:
Can be used in compatible FRP softener vessels containing ion-exchange resin.
4. General media filtration:
Suitable for compatible FRP vessels used for various water-treatment media.
5. Water purification systems:
Used as an internal component in domestic, commercial and other water-treatment systems where the vessel and valve specifications match.
The product page specifically identifies softening tanks, quartz sand filters and activated carbon filters as examples of FRP vessel applications.
How the Riser Pipe Works:
The riser pipe sits vertically inside the FRP vessel and connects the filter head to the internal bottom distributor or strainer.
A typical arrangement is:
Filter head

50mm riser pipe

Bottom distributor / strainer

Filter media
The riser provides the central pathway for water between the filter head and bottom distributor.
During filtration, water passes through the filter media and enters the internal distributor system before travelling through the riser pipe and filter head. During backwashing, the flow direction reverses to clean the filter media.
The top and bottom strainers or distributors form an important part of the vessel’s internal distribution system. They help control water flow through the media and help prevent filter media from entering the water outlet.
