Although Seakoo Centrifugal Pump CPM170 230V 1.1kw is a mechanical device designed to move a fluid by means of the transfer of rotational energy from one or more driven rotors, called impellers.  The impeller rapidly rotates, drawing in fluid along its axis and ejecting it outward through its vane tips due to centrifugal force. The action of the impeller increases the fluid’s velocity and pressure and also directs it towards the pump outlet.  The impeller in the pump draws in the fluid and then the casing constricts and directs it, slowing and controlling the fluid before discharge.

How does a centrifugal pump work?

Important to realize that the impeller is the key component of a centrifugal pump.  On the whole it consists of a series of curved vanes.  In short these are normally sandwiched between two discs (an enclosed impeller).  For the most part fluids with entrained solids, an open or semi-open impeller (backed by a single disc) is preferred
