Water flow distributors are components of water treatment systems by filtering it on a granular load (sand, activated carbon, ion exchange resin, etc.). Distribution systems are designed to delay the particles of filter material inside the filter housing, prevent them from entering the control valve or leaching into the drainage, as well as for a more uniform water supply to the cleaning system.

Description

The Bottom Distributor High Flow Bayonet for 36″ Tank with 4″ Mount is a high-flow internal distributor designed for compatible 36″ diameter FRP water-treatment vessels. Installed at the bottom of the vessel, it works together with the central riser or lifting tube to distribute water through the treatment media and collect treated water during normal filtration.

The distributor features calibrated slots that allow water to pass through while helping retain the treatment media within the vessel. By promoting more even water distribution across the media bed, the distributor helps increase contact between the water and treatment media while reducing the risk of channeling.

It is suitable for compatible media-based water-treatment systems, including water softening, iron filtration, activated carbon filtration, sediment filtration, backwashing and up-flow filtration applications.

Applications:

1. Water Softening:

Used in compatible water-softening vessels containing ion-exchange resin. The distributor helps distribute water through the resin bed and collect the treated water.

2. Iron Filtration:

Suitable for compatible iron-removal media systems where even water distribution and effective water collection are required.

3. Activated Carbon Filtration:

Used in activated carbon filter vessels to distribute water through the carbon media and collect treated water.

4. Sediment Filtration:

Suitable for compatible media-based sediment filtration systems.

5. Backwashing Filter Systems:

Suitable for systems where the treatment media is periodically backwashed to remove accumulated contaminants.

6. Up-Flow Filtration:

Suitable for compatible up-flow filtration systems where water is distributed through the media in the required flow direction.

How the Bottom Distributor Works:

The bottom distributor is installed at the base of the FRP vessel and works together with the central riser or lifting tube.

During normal filtration:

Water enters the vessel

Water flows through the treatment media

Treated water reaches the bottom distributor

The distributor collects the treated water

Water enters the central riser/lifting tube

Water returns through the filter head

The calibrated slots allow water to pass through the distributor while helping retain the treatment media inside the vessel. This helps promote more even water distribution through the media bed and can reduce channeling.

During backwashing, the flow direction is reversed. Water enters through the riser and distributor before flowing upward through the media bed. The upward flow loosens the media and carries accumulated contaminants out through the filter head.
