The 8″ Katalox Iron Removal System with Automatic Backwash Head is a compact and effective water filtration solution designed to reduce iron, manganese and suspended solids from water. The system uses Katalox Light® filter media, a high-performance filtration media specifically designed to reduce iron and manganese and provide fine particulate filtration under suitable operating conditions. Katalox Light® provides a high-surface-area catalytic filtration bed that promotes the oxidation and filtration of iron and manganese as water passes through the media bed.

Katalox Light® can also help reduce hydrogen sulphide (H₂S), which is commonly associated with the characteristic “rotten egg” odour found in some borehole and groundwater supplies. The manufacturer’s information also indicates iron reduction capabilities of up to 7 mg/L under suitable operating conditions.

The system is supplied with an automatic backwash control head, which simplifies operation and maintenance.
