Description
A polyvinyl chloride (PVC) Adaptor with male thread 25mm x 32mm x 3/4″ is a pipe fitting with a male (external) thread on one end. Also a socket on the other. The socket allows it to be permanently joined to a plain PVC pipe using solvent cement. While the male thread lets it connect to a female-threaded fitting.
Male PVC adapters are available in a variety of types, sizes, and schedule thicknesses depending on the intended application. Which can range from plumbing and irrigation to electrical conduit.
How to use a PVC Adaptor with male thread 25mm x 32mm x 3/4″
- Prepare the pipe: Cut the PVC pipe squarely and burrs the inside and outside of the pipe end.
- Clean and prime: Apply a layer of PVC primer to the outside of the pipe and the inside of the adapter’s socket. This softens the plastic, preparing it for a strong solvent weld.
- Apply solvent cement: Apply a generous, even layer of PVC solvent cement to both the pipe and the adapter socket.
- Connect: Twist the pipe and fitting together at a quarter turn to ensure even cement coverage, then hold them firmly in place for about 30 seconds.
- Assemble the threaded connection: Apply PTFE (Teflon) tape to the male threaded end. Afterwards you should finger-tighten it, then add one to two turns with a wrench for a secure, leak-proof seal.
