Description
Firstly we make the Double union ball valve threaded 1,1/2″ as a compact valve from unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (uPVC). Also engineers design it for controlling the flow of liquids, primarily in water systems. Basically the “double union” design allows for easy installation, repair, and replacement without needing to dismantle the entire pipe work.
Key features of the Double union ball valve threaded 1,1/2″:
- Material: The valve body is made of unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (uPVC), a durable, corrosion-resistant plastic suitable for water supply, irrigation, and chemical installations.
- Double union design: The “double union” feature means it has two threaded connectors, one on each end. This allows operators to easily remove the valve from a pipeline for cleaning, maintenance, or replacement without cutting the pipe.
- Connection type: The “solvent weld” (S/WELD) or “plain” connection uses solvent cement to permanently join the valve to a pipe.
- Sizes: This is available in various sizes, with online listings showing variants from 16mm up to 110mm.
- Pressure and temperature rating: For standard uPVC pressure fittings, the maximum working pressure is 16 bars at 25°C. This pressure capacity decreases as the temperature increases.
- Double union design: With threaded nuts on both ends, the valve can be easily disassembled from the pipeline for service or replacement, reducing system downtime.
- Full bore flow: When the valve is in the open position, it provides a straight, unobstructed flow path, preventing debris from getting caught inside and causing blockages.
- Quick 90-degree operation: The valve uses a handle to turn the internal ball 90 degrees between the fully open and fully closed positions. This provides quick shut-off control but does not regulate fine flow.
- Corrosion-resistant material: The valve body is constructed from durable, high-quality uPVC, which offers excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals. This makes it suitable for various water-based applications.
Installation
Proper installation is important for preventing leaks and ensuring a long service life.
- The pipeline must be flushed to remove debris before installation to prevent damage to the ball and seats.
- For solvent weld models, care should be taken to prevent solvent cement from contacting the ball or valve seats.
- For threaded models, tighten union nuts by hand to avoid damage.
- The valve can be installed in any orientation and should be in the open position during pressure tests.
