Description
This is designed top distributor for 13″–16″ FRP tanks with a 2.5″ mount as an internal water-distribution component for compatible FRP water-treatment vessels. Installed at the top of the vessel, the distributor forms part of the internal water-flow system and helps distribute water through the treatment media while helping prevent granular filter media from reaching the control valve.
During normal filtration, the distributor helps direct water through the treatment media and towards the internal distribution system. During backwashing, the operator reverses the water-flow direction, allowing the distributor to assist with distributing backwash water through the media bed and supporting the removal of accumulated contaminants.
The distributor is suitable for compatible water softeners, activated carbon filters, quartz and sand filters and other media-based water-treatment systems using a 2.5″ head-mount connection.

Applications:
1. Water softening:
You can use the top distributor in compatible water-softening vessels containing ion-exchange resin. It helps distribute water through the treatment bed while helping prevent resin from reaching the control valve.

How the top distributor works:
The top distributor is installed at the upper section of the FRP vessel and forms part of the internal water-flow and media-retention system.
During normal filtration:
Water enters through the filter head.

Water is directed into the treatment vessel.
↓
Water passes through the treatment media.
↓
Treated water moves through the internal distribution system.
↓
Backwash water enters through the riser/distribution system.
↓
Water is distributed through the treatment media.
↓
The media bed is loosened.
↓
Accumulated contaminants and fines are carried towards the filter head.
The distributor also helps reduce the risk of granular treatment media entering the control valve during normal operation.
