The system uses hollow-fibre ultrafiltration (UF) membrane technology to filter water through a semi-permeable membrane. The membrane helps retain suspended solids, fine particles, colloids, turbidity and many microorganisms while allowing water and many smaller dissolved substances to pass through.

Description

The 1,600 L/h Automatic Ultrafiltration System is a high-capacity membrane filtration system designed for commercial, agricultural and industrial water-treatment applications where fine filtration and automated membrane cleaning are required.

The system uses hollow-fibre ultrafiltration (UF) membrane technology to filter water through a semi-permeable membrane. The membrane helps retain suspended solids, fine particles, colloids, turbidity and many microorganisms while allowing water and many smaller dissolved substances to pass through.

With a nominal production capacity of up to 1,600 litres per hour, the system is suitable for a range of high-volume water-treatment applications. Actual production capacity depends on factors including feed-water quality, temperature, pressure, membrane condition and pre-treatment.

The system is designed for automatic operation, including automated filtration, backwashing and rinsing. Automatic operation reduces the need for routine manual valve switching and helps maintain consistent membrane-cleaning cycles when the system is correctly configured.

The UF system can be installed as a standalone filtration stage for suitable applications or incorporated into a larger water-treatment plant. It can also be used as a pre-treatment stage for reverse osmosis, helping reduce suspended and colloidal loading before water reaches the RO membranes.

Important: Pre-treatment required

We recommend suitable pre-treatment before the ultrafiltration system, as it is vital for maintaining optimal membrane performance and service life. Operators should analyse raw water and appropriately treat it before it enters the UF membranes. Depending on the source-water quality, pre-treatment may include sediment filtration, multimedia or glass filtration, activated carbon, iron and manganese removal, softening, or other treatment stages. Proper pre-treatment helps reduce membrane fouling, scaling, and contamination and can significantly improve membrane performance and service life.
