Description

The Rotameter 5–35 L/min Round Profile Flow Meter is an in-line variable-area flow meter designed for measuring and monitoring the flow rate of water through a piping system. As water passes through the measuring tube, the internal float moves according to the flow rate, allowing the operator to read the approximate flow directly from the graduated scale.

Its compact round-profile design, acrylic measuring body and easy-to-read scale provide a simple visual solution for monitoring water flow in filtration, water purification, reverse osmosis and other water-treatment applications. The mechanical design requires no electrical power for basic flow measurement, making it suitable for systems where a straightforward visual indication of flow is required.

How a Rotameter Works:

A rotameter is a variable-area flow meter. As water flows through the measuring tube, it causes the internal float to move in response to the flow rate. The position of the float corresponds to the water flow rate shown on the graduated scale.

As the flow rate increases, the float rises within the measuring tube. The operator can then read the approximate flow rate directly from the graduated scale.

This provides a simple visual indication of water flow without requiring electrical power.

Installation:

The rotameter should be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation requirements, with the measuring tube positioned in the correct orientation to allow the float to move freely and provide a clear flow-rate reading.

The connected pipework should be properly supported to prevent excessive mechanical stress on the meter. Flush the pipework before installation to remove debris that could interfere with the float or measuring tube.

Ensure that the system flow falls within the rotameter’s 5–35 L/min measuring range and that the operating pressure and temperature remain within the specified limits.

Important:
  • Check that the required system flow falls within the 5–35 L/min measuring range.
  • The equivalent flow range is approximately 0.3–2.1 m³/h.
  • The equivalent flow range is approximately 300–2,100 L/h.
  • Confirm that the 1″ female threaded connection is compatible with the existing piping system.
  • Ensure that the system operating pressure does not exceed 100 PSI (approximately 6.9 bar).
  • Ensure that the operating temperature remains between 5°C and 50°C.
  • Install the rotameter in the correct orientation to allow the float to move freely.
  • Flush the pipework before installation to remove debris.
  • Support connected pipework to prevent excessive mechanical stress on the rotameter.
