Description

The High-Flow Top Distributor for 14–36″ FRP Tanks with a 4″ Mount is an internal distribution and media-retention component for compatible FRP water-treatment vessels. It is installed at the top of the vessel and forms part of the internal water-flow system.

The distributor helps direct water through the treatment media while reducing the risk of granular media reaching the filter head. In addition, its stacked screen design allows accumulated fines to be released during backwashing.

The top distributor is compatible with systems using a standard 50 mm outside-diameter (OD) riser tube. It can be used in water softeners, carbon filters, iron filters, sediment filters, DI resin systems, pH filters and other compatible backwashing or up-flow filtration systems.

Features:
  • High-flow top distributor design.
  • Designed for compatible 14–36″ FRP tanks.
  • 4″ mounting configuration.
  • Suitable for systems using a 50 mm OD riser tube.
  • Stacked distributor screen design.
  • Helps prevent granular filter media from reaching the filter head.
  • Helps distribute water through the treatment media.
  • Supports more even water distribution through the media bed.
  • Helps reduce the risk of channeling.
  • Designed to allow accumulated fines to be released during backwashing.
  • Suitable for backwashing filter systems.
  • Suitable for up-flow filtration systems.
  • Compact internal design.
  • Easy to install and remove when compatible with the vessel assembly.
  • Suitable for a variety of water-treatment media.
Specifications:
  • Product type: High-flow top distributor / stacked upper strainer.
  • Suitable vessel size: 14–36″ FRP tanks.
  • Mounting size: 4″.
  • Riser compatibility: 50 mm outside diameter (OD).
  • Overall height: 210 mm.
  • Outside diameter: 90 mm.
  • Installation position: Top of FRP vessel.
  • Application: Media filtration and water-treatment vessels.
  • Design: Stacked distributor screen.
  • Function: Water distribution and media retention.
  • Power requirement: None.
Applications:

1. Water Softening

The top distributor can be used in compatible water-softening vessels containing ion-exchange resin. It helps distribute water through the resin bed while helping prevent resin from reaching the filter head.

2. Activated Carbon Filtration

It is suitable for compatible activated carbon filter vessels. The distributor helps direct water through the carbon media while helping retain the media inside the vessel.

3. Iron Filtration

The distributor can be used in compatible iron-removal filter systems. It forms part of the internal water-distribution system and helps prevent treatment media from reaching the valve.

4. Sediment Filtration

It is suitable for compatible media-based sediment filtration systems. The distributor helps support water distribution through the treatment media.

5. DI Resin Filtration

The distributor can be used in compatible deionisation (DI) resin vessels. It helps retain the granular resin within the vessel during normal operation and backwashing.

6. pH Filtration

It is suitable for compatible pH correction and media filtration vessels where the vessel and valve specifications match.

7. Backwashing Filter Systems

During backwashing, the water-flow direction is reversed. Water moves through the internal distribution system and the treatment media. The stacked distributor design can help release fines that may accumulate around the screen.

8. Up-Flow Filtration

The distributor can also be used in compatible up-flow filtration systems where the vessel, valve, riser and distributor configuration is suitable.

How the Top Distributor Works:

The top distributor is installed at the upper section of the FRP vessel. It works together with the filter head, riser tube, bottom distributor and treatment media.

During normal filtration:

Water enters through the filter head

Water enters the FRP vessel

Water passes through the treatment media

The internal distribution system directs the water

Treated water returns through the filter head

The distributor helps retain the treatment media within the vessel. It also helps support even water distribution through the media bed.

During backwashing, the flow direction is reversed:

Backwash water enters through the filter head

Water moves through the internal distribution system

Water flows through the treatment media

The media bed is loosened

Accumulated contaminants and fines are carried out through the filter head

The stacked screen design allows the distributor to open during backwashing, which can help remove fines that may accumulate around the distributor.
