Description
The UV Reactor 2 x 55W 5.5 m3/h is a high-capacity ultraviolet water-treatment unit designed to provide UV-C microbial treatment for water flows of up to 5.5 m³/h (5,500 litres per hour).
The system features a stainless-steel UV reactor with two 55W UV lamps. As water passes through the reactor, it is exposed to UV-C radiation, which helps inactivate microorganisms in the treated water.
This is a chemical-free water-disinfection process and does not add chemicals to the treated water. UV treatment also does not remove suspended solids, dissolved minerals, salts, iron, hardness or other non-microbial contaminants. Appropriate pre-treatment should therefore be used where required.
The reactor features 50 mm (2″) male threaded inlet and outlet connections and includes a welded mounting stand for secure installation. The high-flow configuration is suitable for larger domestic, borehole, commercial and compatible water-treatment applications.

Why choose the UV reactor 2 × 55W 5.5 m³/h?
- Dual 55W UV lamps: Uses two 55W lamps to provide a total UV lamp power of 110W.
- 5,500 LPH capacity: Designed for higher-flow water-treatment applications up to 5.5 m³/h.
- 2″ connections: The 50 mm male threaded inlet and outlet connections are suitable for larger-flow plumbing installations.
- Stainless-steel reactor: Provides a durable housing for inline UV water treatment.
- Welded mounting stand: Provides a dedicated support structure for mounting the reactor during installation.
- Chemical-free treatment: Uses UV-C radiation rather than adding chemical disinfectants to the water.
- Replacement lamps available: The 55W UV lamps can be replaced as part of routine maintenance.
- High-flow solution: Suitable for larger domestic, borehole and compatible commercial water-treatment systems.
- Complete reactor assembly: Supplied with the UV lamps and welded mounting stand.
How the UV reactor works:
- Water enters the UV reactor through the 50 mm (2″) male threaded inlet.
- Water flows through the reactor chamber around the quartz sleeves containing the UV lamps.
- The two 55W UV lamps produce UV-C radiation.
- UV-C exposure helps inactivate microorganisms as the water passes through the reactor.
- Treated water exits through the 50 mm (2″) male threaded outlet and continues to the point of use.
Installation & maintenance:
- Install the UV reactor in the correct direction of water flow.
- Confirm that the plumbing is compatible with the 50 mm (2″) male threaded connections.
- Suitable 50 mm (2″) female threaded fittings are required to connect to the reactor.
- Secure the reactor using the welded mounting stand.
- Ensure the mounting surface and support structure are suitable for the installed unit.
- Install suitable pre-filtration before the UV system where required.
- Ensure the incoming water is suitable for UV treatment.
- Do not exceed the rated flow capacity of the system.
- Isolate the water and electrical supply before servicing.
- Never operate the UV lamps outside the reactor.
- Never look directly at an operating UV lamp.
- Avoid direct exposure of skin and eyes to UV-C radiation.
- Clean the quartz sleeves periodically according to the water quality and maintenance requirements.
- Replace the UV lamps when they reach the end of their recommended service life.
- Inspect the quartz sleeves during maintenance and replace them if cracked or damaged.
- Check all water connections for leaks after installation.
- Protect the electrical components from water ingress.
- Use suitable surge protection to help protect the electrical components.
Warranty & electrical safety:
Due to the sensitive nature of electrical products, consumables such as bulbs and ballasts do not carry a warranty. It is recommended that suitable surge protection be installed to help protect the electrical components from voltage fluctuations and electrical surges.
